Grandma Said Her Last Goodbye

Many people like Sarah’s grandmother report seeing a loved one shortly after their death. The spirit offers confirmation of afterlife, and also a feeling of relief to the one left behind.

Sarah shares this story: “Grandpa Les’ funeral was not a sad affair. He had suffered from painful lung cancer for so long that his friends and family were happy he was no longer in pain and trusted deeply that he resided with God. So when everyone returned to Grandma’s house, the Irish festivities with music, food and laughter carried on into the night. When everyone else returned home, I stayed to help Grandma clean up. In fact I stayed for several days to make sure she was all right. On the fifth morning of my stay with her, Grandma confided to me at breakfast that she had seen her deceased husband at the foot of the bed while she prayed the rosary on his behalf. He smiled at her and winked, as he used to do all the time. She felt the heavy grief lift from her heart and feel asleep peacefully.”
